Setup guide

Getting started with Discord

Discord is the platform we use for the community. If you have never used it before, that is completely fine. This guide walks you through everything in under 10 minutes.

  1. 1

    Create your account

Go to discord.com and click Register. You will need an email address and a password. Your username can be anything, and you can change it later.

  2. 2

    Verify your email

Discord will send a verification email. Click the link inside to confirm your account. Check your spam folder if it does not arrive within a minute or two.

  3. 3

Use it in your browser or download the app

You can use Discord entirely in your browser at discord.com. There is also a desktop app for Mac and Windows, plus a mobile app if you prefer. You do not need to download anything to get started.

  4. 4

Click your invite link to join

Once you have an account, click the invite link from your confirmation email (or the confirmation screen after you complete the form). That link takes you directly into the Multiple community server.

  5. 5

    Tame your notifications

By default, Discord notifies you for everything. We recommend changing this immediately. Right-click the server name, go to Notification Settings, and set it to Only @mentions. You stay in the loop without the noise.

Need a hand?

If you get stuck at any point, just reply to your confirmation email or reach out directly. A real person from the Multiple team will help you get sorted, no bother at all.
